Heart and Vascular Center
King’s Daughters Hospital is pleased to announce the opening of The Heart and Vascular Center. Located on the second floor of the hospital, the $3 million project is approximately 10,000 square feet of renovated space dedicated solely to cardiac and vascular procedures.
In an effort to meet better the needs of our patients, we’ve recruited a team of highly skilled physicians and nurses to care for our patients. Our affiliation with Texas Cardiovascular Consultants and King’s Daughters Clinic allows us to provide quality service utilizing the latest technology in a smaller, personalized environment that King’s Daughters is known for.
The facility was designed as a ‘one-stop shop’ for patients. Patients will step off of the elevator into the reception area where they are registered, admitted, treated, recovered and released without ever leaving the Heart and Vascular Center.
The center features private preparation areas, two cardiac catheterization laboratories and a recovery area. The state-of-the-art equipment throughout the Center will permit the physicians working there the flexibility to do a number of different procedures in the same space. Heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, and cardiac rhythm disturbances can be diagnosed and treated in the same laboratory.
Initially, services provided will include diagnostic coronary catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography and interventional studies of the peripheral arteries including angioplasty, stent placement and laser atherectomy procedures. Interventional coronary procedures (such as placement of a cardiac stent) will be offered in the future.
